Macro veg is the combination of vegan and macrobiotic philosophies:
- VEGAN: a person who does not eat or use animal products.
- MACROBITICS: a diet and lifestyle that focuses on the body's reaction to climate and geography, a concentration on whole grains, local produce, and the balance of ying and yang foods and physiological reactions.

In addition to this intake, the macro veg implements the following general macrobiotic guidelines to help keep the blood alkaline and our reactions to the environment stable. Note that macrobiotics was based on an environment that experiences all four seasons, and therefore some of the recommendations below may be increased/decreased if living in a warmer climate.
